The Hungarian rural tall tower station, Hegyhátsál is widely used in long-term atmospheric greenhouse gas monitoring measurements. As the former CO2 concentration and isotope measurements proved, it is an ideal place to collect background atmospheric air samples. Background ambient air samples were collected between 2013 and 2016, 4 bags per month at the Hungarian site for methane (CH4) mole fraction and 13CCH4 measurements.
