Transcarpathian Scientific Database
We are continuously expanding the content of our Database, so we welcome new personal introductions and scholarly works.
In 2014, Momentum Doctorandus, the association of Hungarian doctoral students in Transcarpathia, set itself the goal of collecting the individual and group research of Transcarpathian Hungarian researchers and doctoral students, their PhD dissertations and studies, as well as the accumulated regional knowledge and digitised materials, and making them publicly available on a website. Thanks to the support of the Bethlen Gábor Fund Management Ltd., the Transcarpathian Scientific Database was created. The aim of the Database is to provide a continuously expanding collection that, with its up-to-date knowledge base, can support researchers and professionals working on issues related to the Hungarian community in Transcarpathia. In recent years, the website became outdated, but in 2021, with the support of BGA Ltd., we developed a user-friendly platform with renewed content.
The Transcarpathian Scientific Database currently focuses on three main areas.
In developing the Transcarpathian Scientific Database, we were assisted by the electronic libraries of existing scientific content websites, which are listed below under Useful Links.
The collection contains the scientific dissertations of Transcarpathian Hungarian researchers. Researchers included in the collection have agreed to share their dissertations or their theses on our website. The doctoral dissertations available here not only help researchers to become familiar with each other’s work but also serve as useful examples for young researchers preparing to write their own PhD theses.
We provide an opportunity for every Hungarian doctoral student and researcher from Transcarpathia to introduce themselves briefly on our website. The goal of the Database is to enable them to learn about each other’s research topics and to present their scientific activities more widely, not only within Transcarpathia but also in the broader scientific community of the Carpathian Basin. Our aim is to foster scientific cooperation and facilitate interdisciplinary connections among representatives of various fields.
